Blockchain: Powering Real World Change

Date
Nov. 14 (Thu), 2024
Venue
The Shilla Seoul, Korea

Blockchain is no longer an invisible technology. Recent headlines, such as the activation of real-world assets (RWA), the approval of Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETF) in global markets, and the NFT tickets, all indicate the arrival of blockchain technology in our lives.

Blockchain, the foundation of the Web 3.0, is being applied to various fields, including technology, finance, policy, and culture. Its influence is also broadly expanding to social media and science.

UDC 2024 followed the trends of blockchain’s multifaceted industry expansion and adoption into the real world with the theme “Blockchain: Powering Real World Change” to explore the amazing and diverse ways in which blockchain was changing the world.

Opportunity to understand different trends and practical examples
UDC is an opportunity for people to come and learn about the trends. I think one of the great things about it is that it's not just focused on trading and the movement of prices and markets, but it really helps people understand the underlying forces at work. The use cases, the different trends that are going on underneath the markets within the technologies.

A hub for crypto discussion where global and local meet
It was able to gain valuable insights by combining global perspectives on crypto with a local Korean viewpoint, especially understanding how the Korean market is evolving. I still strongly believe that the next step for crypto is to try to make this technology really something that is part of people's everyday lives and really has an impact there. Korea has a very strong atmosphere of cryptocurrency, which I think Korea in a more advantageous compared to other countries or regions globally.
